When we hear the word “spy,” what comes to our mind at first is disguising, and here we have it today spy glasses, or should I say video recording glasses? This technology firm has been around for a while, but to be honest, we are just getting the hang of it. And considering the fact that it can be really useful in our day-to-day activities, it’s worth a try.
We have used pairs of spy/video recording glasses over the years, although most haven’t seemed to be great. A few stood out in the test, and yeah, we will be helping you to pick the best spy/video recording glasses the market has to offer.
Best overall – Ray-Ban Meta sunglasses
First launched in October of 2023, the Ray-Ban smart glasses seem to be the dominators of their peers. With its blend of style and effective technology, I would pick it over its peers.
The newer generation of Ray-Bans comes equipped with a 12MP camera and supports up to 3 minutes of recording time, which is amazing if you are (spying) just kidding, or recording a quick short video of your pet or kids running around the playground.

This masterpiece also comes equipped with a capture button (which is not recognizable) for quick and easy capture and recording. One thing I like about the button is its accessibility.
Quite easy to access

Open-ear speakers Many brands are actually exploring open-ear technology today, and Meta is no exception with their Ray-Ban smart glasses, as they come equipped with an open-ear design. Aimed at delivering that surround sound effect on music and podcasts with your health in mind with adaptive volume controls that adjust automatically to ambient sounds.
Touchpad: What’s even more interesting is the fact that people won’t notice that you are controlling this gadget just by touching it. Which fits into the whole spying thing. The Ray-Ban Meta sunglasses come equipped with one of the best touchpads on the market, which helps you play/pause and also reduce or increase the volume of whatever you are listening to.
Battery life On a single charge The Ray-Ban Meta glasses can last up to 4 hours on a single charge and 36 hours on a full charge, and that’s basically as much time as possible you would need to record any video.

Our second pick
OHO Sunshine Ultra 4K Camera Glass
On our second pick, we present to you the OHO Ultra 4K smart glasses. Not well designed for spying if you ask me, but it does the job. The OHO Ultra 4K camera glass doesn’t meet the stylish design of the Ray-Ban by Meta smart glasses, which could easily blend as a normal spyglass even when recording videos or listening to audio. But it does well to pack a punch, especially because it has 4K recording glass and amazing storage options. The Oho Sunshine is known for its amazing video recording quality but flops when it comes to the stability of the video, and I’m pretty concerned if it could pass as a spyglass considering its design.
To me, for any glass to beat the spyglass rating, the camera should be at least hidden, and that’s where Oho did not meet my expectations, and that’s also the reason why we put the Ray-Ban by Meta right above it.
These glasses are packed with an amazing 4K camera that makes shooting videos amazing. As a video creator myself, I can personally tell you that having a 4K recording glass is a huge plus to the game as regards the quality of video you are getting. Either recording a small picnic, vlogging, or even recording a quick hike across the mountains it does the job.
One-touch button function I always emphasize the button functions. If it’s accessible and reliable, of course, we wouldn’t want someone to know we are making a video of them when recording. These glasses come equipped with the one-touch button assist, which you can use to start a recording and also use to capture pictures.
Battery life isn’t bad either on this pair, as the battery can last up to 1:30 minutes on a full charge. That’s probably enough time to get a video of your choice.
Not to mention that these glasses are also waterproof, but that doesn’t do a thing for us when it comes to spying if you ask me. I mean, who spies underwater, lol, but plays a huge role for surfers and the like.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Ultra 4K recording: This can be used to capture really clear footage of whoever you are trying to spy on and also provide great image quality.
- Great storage space: the Oho comes with a memory storage of up to 512 GB, which is spectacular.
- Great battery life
- Price: These glasses are significantly priced higher than the Ray-Ban by Meta.
Cons
- Bad style: Compared to the Ray-Ban by Meta, these glasses do not meet the requirement for a spy, as they can easily be detectable.
- Lack of stability: these glasses do not do well when it comes to keeping videos stable.
Should you buy the OhO Sunshine Ultra 4K Camera Glasses? Yes, absolutely.
